His family confirmed his death on September 16, 2026, describing him as “The Lion of Lufodo” and asking the public and media to respect their privacy during the mourning period.

Jacobs was one of the most recognisable figures in Nigerian theatre, television and film. His career spanned decades and included work in British television, international films and Nollywood.

The family identified the late actor by his full name and dates of birth and death, confirming that he lived from July 11, 1942, to September 16, 2026.
